VOODOO DOLLS

Imagine catching an intimate viewing of the original (circa 1975) cast of “Saturday Night Live” performing live improv in the city. Considering you're about 30 years too late, seeing the sketch comedy troupe Lunch Box Voodoo is the next best alternative. The ever-evolving group, comprised mostly of graduates from the American Musical and Dramatic Academy, offers a mix of improv and sketch comedy, with a dash of “insane” thrown in for good measure. On any given Saturday you're libel to catch Voodoo members perform daringly random vignettes on anything from Sean Connery's accent to spoofing what a call center would be like in purgatory. If you happen to be in the East Village on a Saturday Night, check out Lunchbox Voodoo live—before they go primetime.

Through August 19. Identity Bar, 511 E. 6th St. (betw. Aves. A & B), 212-995-8889; 8, $10.
