Que Comico

The Latin community may not be as fond of whiskey as, say, frat guys are of beer, but that hasn’t stopped Jack Daniel’s from bellying up to the bar and putting on their Latino Comedy Series. The 13-week long event features over 20 different comedians at NYC’s top comedy venues and to get it all started, host Mark Viera and comedians Rod Reyes and Ruperto Vanderpool, two Bronx natives, bring their hispano-tinged humor to the crowds. The shows are free but are by invitation only as long as you give them your stats online (guessing you either have to be Latino or like whiskey, but, hey, that pretty much covers everyone these days). You’ve got to be 21 years or older to enter the site, so it must be good.

July 13–Sept. 29. Gotham Comedy Club, 208 W. 23rd St. (betw. 7th & 8th Aves.), 212.367.9000 (call to RSVP); 8:30, free. www.masrisas.com.
