und here is sick of the entire Mohammed cartoon fiasco. But evengiven the recent gongs-on at the Press, who can resist commenting on the cartoon posted by a Dutch-Belgian Islamic group of Anne Frank in bed with Adolph Hitler enjoying a post-coital moment. 

The reason why this cartoon is of such importance is because it's of no importance. No one noticed. And that must drive the perpetrators crazy. 

You see, the entire purpose of the cartoon was to show that we in the West (i.e., Jews and their infernal allies) are as thin-skinned about our icons as followers of Islam are aout the Prophet. The cartoon was supposed to cause the same reaction as the Danish cartoons that have caused eruptions from Indonesia to the New York Press. So where were the burning buses in Tel Aviv? Who was hurt by the Molotov cocktails being hurled in the streets of the Upper West Side? I must have been sleeping. 

Or maybe, just maybe, the idiots who designed this little fiasco proved exactly the opposite point than what was intended. In fact, Jews have been vilified in the most vile ways in Arab media. Christ has been portrayed in every conceivably blasphemous way. The cartoon of an innocent victim of the Holocaust doesn't upset me very much. But knowing that someone, somewhere believes that it would offends me deeply. 

Soon enough, this entire cartoon countretemps will be forgotten. Soon, I hope.
