SAY SOMETHING!
By Doug Black
A Queens assemblyman really wants to hear you say something. Rory Lancman plans to sponsor a bill seeking to eradicate any legal ramifications that people reporting suspicious activity as part of the informal “see something, say something” policy may face. Presently, whistleblowers can be sued for reporting suspicious activities that end up being insufficiently suspicious. While this immunity might lead to an increased level of civilian vigilance regarding terrorism, something tells me it’ll be a rough time to read your Quran on the subway.
