Early in the morning of Sunday, April 7, a police officer on an E train observed a man using a razor blade to cut the right front pants pocket of a 51-year-old male passenger sleeping on the train. The defendant removed three dollars in cash plus an MTA MetroCard from the victim's pocket. The officer arrested the defendant and recovered the stolen items from the defendant's left jacket pocket. The razor blade was recovered from the train track bed at the Chambers Street station.
