Pressed for Time: The Hip-Hop Rapathon

By Joshua David Stein

The Hip-Hop Rapathon

May 30, Hip-Hop Culture Center, 2309 Frederick Douglass Blvd. (at W. 124th St.); 6, FREE

“The Rapathon is open to anyone with a love for Hip-Hop and the ability to rhyme for 90 seconds straight without cursing.” This, amazingly, is much harder than it sounds. I actually made it to the 30-second mark then said “fuckin’ shit poop/ turdy dick suck” which broke both prerequisites. If you are better than me—and you are—head up to Harlem as the Hip-Hop Center tries to break the world record of “longest unending rap.” You can rap or you can just watch and laugh and also appreciate. Word.

Bottom Line:You thought “Rapper’s Delight” was long. You have no idea.
