Mika
June 23, (le) poisson rouge, 158 Bleecker St. (betw. Thompson & Sullivan Sts.), 212-796-0741; 9, $25, SOLD OUT
Guy candy of the moment and a pretty good musician too, Mika plays his only American show of the summer—an acoustic one to boot—at (le) poisson rouge. Expect a heavily fashionable crowd and ponderous, dare I say haunting, ditties off his newly released album Songs For Sorrow. It’ll be like that Jonas Brothers concert last week at the Fillmore but with gays instead of tweens.
Bottom Line: Mika’s froth pop divested of electricity may be the concert of the summer.
