City of Water Day
July 18, Governors Island; 10 a.m.-4 p.m., FREEThere’s never a bad time to go explore Governors Island. The ferry is free and wandering around the forts and parks is way better than another afternoon in McCarren Park.Today’s an especially good day to go, since the annual City of Water Day offers free boat tours around the island, live music and all sorts of other feel-good stuff we would mock if it were in someplace we were already sick of.
The Bottom Line: Nobody wants to look like a tourist, but this is way more interesting and exciting than another day at the Intrepid.
