Pressed for Time: Corn Mo & .357 Lover

Tuesday, August 11,2009

Aug. 17, The Bell House, 149 7th St. (betw. 2nd & 3rd Aves.), Brooklyn, 718-643-6510; 7:30, $10/12

I’ve been a big Corn Mo fan since I saw the longhaired Southern rocker playing accordion with the Bindlestiff Family Circus a decade ago. Corn Mo has done a lot since then, like touring with They Might Be Giants and Polyphonic Spree. Now he brings his mondo rock aesthetic, tinged with an obsession with old timey things and lycanthropy, to Gowanus.

Bottom Line: What could be a tired joke is instead mercilessly hard rocking.
