Aug. 15, Central Park Summerstage, enter park at E. 69th St. & 5th Ave.; 8, FREE
The lithe golden child of ballet prances around Central Park’s Summerstage with his company Morphoses to a commissioned piece by sister-of-Rufus Martha Wainwright.Wheeldon, who danced with the Royal Ballet and NYCB before pirouetting off on his own, is as virtuosic a choreographer as he is a dancer and Wainwright’s husky emotive songs are as smart as they are uncomfortably vulnerable.
Bottom Line:You might have to wait for tickets with a bunch of ballet lovers, but they’ll probably all be old and have to pee all the time, so you can take their place in line.
