Perhaps the only beauty contest to include queercore, boi, shim, intersex, gender variance, F to F, womyn and trans contestants, Miss LEZ—hosted by mustachioed lady Murray Hill—still follows the traditional platform: swimsuit, evening gown, interview and talent rubrics. Of course, with contestants like Miss Room for Cream, Miss That’s My Jam and Miss Choice Cunts, don’t expect the Vaseline to be used only for smiles.
Bottom Line: This is, ahem, what Miss Judith Butler would call Appropriation, right?
