Brooklyn celebrates its own rich graphic novelist and comic geek cultures with a cleverly named convention. More intimate and, dare I say, intelligent than its steroided Manhattan brother, KingCon features author Jonathan Ames, the splendif- Harvey Pekar erous Harvey Pekar and comic book legend Denny O’Neil.

Bottom Line: Whip out your boards ’n’ bags, gentlemen (and rare but muchappreciated ladies), and let the fandemonium begin.
