Pressed for Time: Where They At: A Multi-Media Archive of New Orleans Bounce

Wednesday, February 10,2010

Feb. 11, Abrons Art Center, 66 Grand St. (betw. Abraham Pl. & Pitt St.), 212-598-0400; 6, Free.

Fresh off a Super Bowl win, New Orleans is on a rampage of feeling good. This exhibit, a multimedia history of bounce, the crunkest of ’90s hip-hop genres, brings some of the Big Easy to the Lower East Side. The opening night party features DJ Lefty Parker and Vockah Redu and focuses on the queer artists from the scene.

Bottom Line:
An art exhibit, yeah, but also guaranteed to be the best party in the city.
