Pressed for Time: Jeff Garlin with Ira Glass

Wednesday, February 24,2010

Feb. 28, 92nd Street Y, 1395 Lexington Ave. (at E. 92nd St.), 212-415-5550; 8, $27. Underneath the fat, funny-man costume of Jeff Garlin is Jeff Garlin, a sad skinny guy with a serious addiction to food. That funny people are sad isn’t breaking news. But Garlin’s new book, My Footprint, is an iteration of it both funny and moving. Leave it to Ira Glass, who has himself become quite the fit fox, to draw out the touching.

Bottom Line: A funny man sitting down and talking is much funnier than one doing stand-up. Jeff Garlin
