Loathsome Update

That subversive Ted Rall is at it again. According to Editor & Publisher, the New York Times website dropped Rall’s cartoons on March 1 because they didn’t fit "the tone" of the site. Never one to miss the chance to play left-wing martyr, the delusional Rall told E&P’s Dave Astor that the decision to drop his juvenile and simpleminded comics was "appalling."

Page Two would like to congratulate the NYTimes.com editors for finally coming to their senses. We would also like to congratulate Ted Rall for letting slip to E&P that he’d been giving the comics to NYTimes.com for free—a technique common to every desperate, vainglorious comic artist we’ve ever met.

Our 50 Most Loathsome New Yorkers 2004 issue hits the streets Tuesday, March 30.
