Is Assembly Member Hakeem Jeffries the sexiest guy in NYC politics? City Hall news has unveiled its list of the 30 Most Beautiful People in New York City Politics, and we think Jeffries has the most confidence and sex appeal of the entire bunch.
We'd like to think that to make it in the cut-throat world of politics, that
brains and contacts are enough. But anyone who knows
the ins and outs of policymaking, also knows you that beauty can help make the final decision on Election Day. So we analyzed the “red
carpet” interviews of those on the list to see what helps them make it in the competitive circle at City Hall. And we wonder what sort of politicking went on to make the list, cuz there seems to be some serious oversights. Like, where is cutie Council Member Jessica Lappin?
The crop of eye-pleasing political assemblage includes blond bombshell Jennifer Rainville (the very single Democratic communications consultant) who says she “tolerates absolutely no electronic flirting” adding that “when a man is pursuing you via text and e-mail, I find it quite unattractive.” We also hear she's on the market for a serious boyfriend, so men, start your engines.
Gorgeous Chelsea-Lyn Rudder, executive director of the City Council Black, Latino and Asian Caucus, doesn’t let the drab “pantsuit” that Hillary Clinton can’t lose become a fashion staple for her. Instead she poses in a sharp red, fitted dress and animal-print pumps in a quintessential beauty pageant stance. It's only fitting for the former Miss Teen USA contestant turned.
Now on to the hot stuff: Assembly Member Hakeem Jeffries has a face that could launch a thousand votes—and a heart that could turn any critic to his side when he waxes on about his sons: “No matter what has taken place, the children are always there to provide you with unconditional love that really helps to sustain you.”
Assembly Member Michael Gianaris (with a serious Mr. Big thing going on) doesn’t have to worry about people not taking him seriously because he's too good looking; he has the intelligence to back it up. The Harvard alum and pal of President Obama got his start in politics working on the presidential campaign of Michael Dukakis and practiced litigation for several years before being elected to the Assembly in 2000.
Anthony Hogrebe puts any assertions to rest that politicians are uptight and pretentious. The New York City Council deputy press secretary is the light-heartened guy in touch with his funny bones and believes that “personal politics certainly informs what you find funny and ridiculous.”
And then there's badboy Kevin Sheekey, who looks suave and casual in his photo that captures his stunning baby blues. We're not quite sure how Sheekey made the cut, since the Deputy Mayor for Governmental Affairs has rubbed plenty of people the wrong way. But he admits he definitely does not take his grooming tips from Bloomberg. Instead he turns to the former Hollywood action film icon, California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, “especially for tips on getting rid of gray hairs.”
