Looks like Hotel on Rivington’s restaurant, Thor, is in for a makeover. Opening is expected in about a month. Matt Levine is the brains behind the pending beauty, known for his pretentious ownership of the lower east side splurge, The Eldridge, with drinks ranging from 20-30 dollars and gold laden floors. Levine's previous haunt doesn’t stay open weekends for the sake of “keeping it New York”. Where bartenders are dubbed “butlers.” Levine claims he won’t even let his friend’s friends in. How hip. Wonder if the bourgeoisie vibe will transfer... Sounds like we’re in for some mid-recession irony!
