The early '90s television series Twin Peaks, whose brilliant
and even transcendent first season was followed by a disappointing and
often abysmal second, will be revived in five-minute webisodes that
pick up where the show left off so many years ago.Special Agent Dale Cooper, the charming badass otherwise known as actor Kyle MacLachlan, is spearheading the project.
Too good to be true? Possibly. Twin Peaks creator David Lynch is staying far away from Coop's webisodes. This might not be a bad thing, however. Lynch's feature-length prequel, Fire Walk With Me, released after the show was canceled, was a tad weak (but definitely worth watching). If Lynch's heart isn't in it, then the new Twin Peaks series is probably best left in Dale Cooper's extraordinarily capable hands.
But as I recall, in the final episode of Twin Peaks ***SPOILER ALERT*** Dale Cooper became possessed by Bob, a grungy-looking spirit from hell. Will the show be the same if its most lovable character is 100% evil? No, it won't be. But I'm pumped nonetheless.
