Kinks Will Not Reunite, But Will Be Featured in Film

Don’t be too sad: while it’s unlikely that the Kinks will reunite, the band will be featured in a new film directed by music video specialist Julien Temple. Frontman Ray Davies hasn’t yet disclosed whether it will be a documentary or a biopic, but Temple said in 2007 that his next task would be about the “You Really Got Me” band called Kinkdom Come.

Similarly, while Davies, brother Dave Davies (who suffered a stroke in 2004) and drummer Mick Avory reportedly started playing music together again last November, they will not officially reunite. “I will continue to play with ex-band members like Mick Avory from time to time,” says Ray Davies, adding, “I gotta tell you—I miss the Kinks.”
