It’s been four years since Pixies came to the U.S., and 2009 marks the 20-year anniversary of their 1989 album Doolittle. In honor of this, the four Boston-hailing innovators will be doing a U.S. tour of nine cities, playing three shows in New York on Nov. 23, 24 and 25 at the Hammerstein Ballroom.
So far,
Pixies have also listed LA, Oakland,
Seattle, Chicago,
Boston, and Washington,
D.C. along with Eugene,
Oregon and Denver,
Colorado. They’ll be playing all of the songs
from Doolittle—as well as related
B-sides—and are even planning a few Doolittle-related
surprises that will act as entertainment (as if there won’t be enough). The tour
coincides with the release of Minotaur,
