The
Red Hot Chili Peppers are back, willingly, and after a two-year break they plan
on making a new album. Although they have no specific plans for recording, they
will follow their usual routine of jamming and songwriting. Drummer Chad Smith told Billboard, "It'll be two years in September, so now we're ready. You can't force people to play when they don't want to play or aren't ready to play or whatever—not in our band, anyway."
Their
last studio album—Stadium Arcadium—came
out in 2006 and was followed by a world tour. Now, Smith promises more “improvising
and jamming” from The Red Hot Chili Peppers which will lead to something fresh. [via Billboard and NME]
