It seems that every Democrat running for office right now is looking to get a little boost from an unlikely source: Donna Summer. City Room is reporting that the music icon headlined the 31st annual Seaside Summer Concert Series last night and just about every Democrat running for office made an appearance. Dems running for mayor, comptroller and public advocate all stopped by the event to pander as much as possible and/or relive their glory disco days. Whereas Donna Summer “works hard for the money,” these Dems are working hard for the votes. Too bad it turns out that Mayor Bloomberg already stopped by last week to watch the salsa show because “He is a Rebel” and won’t be captive to Donna Summer’s music.
