Just when you thought former LES hotspot The Box was done making waves, comes news that owners Simon Hammerstein and Randy Weiner will be taking their concept to Midtown for a two-week-only, Halloween-themed club called Purgatorio.
According to a press release, "Combining the energy and glamour of a world-class nightclub with the spectacle and illusion of the theater, *Purgatorio* will offer an interactive Halloween experience unlike anything seen before in New York nightlife. Adults 21 and over will be immersed in a multi-level world of macabre fantasy complete with interactive variety acts and installations, all set in a dynamic environment that is at once frightening, erotic and whimsical. *Purgatorio* will take over the tri-level, 15,000 square foot nightclub space at 268 W. 47th Street from October 15 through October 31 only."
