Ryan Adams definitely didn’t go to school for marketing—or music or art for that matter. And based on the window display he created for his latest art exhibit, he should have left the advertising to the professionals or at least a fifth-grader with more finger painting finesse.
Staff at the Morrison Hotel Gallery probably regretted their decision to allow Adams to decorate the store front for his exhibit after he unveiled his masterpiece of shrunken-headed people wielding signs with the kind of humor only space aliens and Adams himself could appreciate. Though signs reading: “The Bowery is for Bums. Not Art!!” have left gallery workers and people on the street confused, since the window art went up reports EV Grieve, clarification has finally arrived for those of us who like our humor a little less incoherent. The newest sign in the window display simply reads- “Your [sic] not funny Mr. Adams!”
