After a night at the bars, we all love tipsily swaying from
a subway pole. To make this quintessential New York experience more like
purgatory, the MTA will give us the party favor it does best: massive delays.
When 18 of its 20 lines skip stops this weekend, expect revelers to riot and
hell’s after-party to fire up just beneath your feet.
Friday to Sunday, the 5, A, F, G, L and E will use free shuttle buses along certain parts of their routes. The 1, 2, 7, B, N, J, R 4, 6 and Q lines will skip stops altogether. The D line will miss 12 Brooklyn stops.
And Bushwickers be warned: the L will skip every stop between Lorimer Street and Myrtle-Wyckoff avenues.
"Lately on the weekends, it's been crazy— it's a headache," Joselyn Soriano, of The Bronx, told the Post. "There are long waits, and I end up walking a lot to get to a train that can get me there quicker if they didn't change the service."
MTA officials say they’re just trying to cram in their outdoor repairs before the winter.
