What kind of a world do we live in where a man can't sit on his stoop with fake sticks of dynamite without getting arrested, especially when all said man wants to do is turn them into a piggy bank?
Brooklyn Heights maitenance man, Robert Lopez learned you don't mess with explosives—even if they're fake sticks of dynamite you found in the trash and all you want to do is stick your quarters in them—after being arrested in 2007 on felony charges for placing a false bomb or hazardous substance. Fortunately for Lopez, the judge found his firecracker fiasco more foolish than threatening and dropped all charges reports the Times. Maybe next time Lopez should stick to a more conventional coin collector.
