Dan Aykroyd is really pushing for this whole Ghostbusters 3 thing.
Don’t get me wrong, Aykroyd is probably one of the best comedians walking around today, even if he hasn’t done anything of note in a while. You could put Bill Murray in a Michael Bay film written by Uwe Boll and co-staring 2002-present Robin Williams and I’d still be there on opening night. Harold Ramis won’t be directing, but he has offered to produce, which is kind of the same, right? And Ernie Hudson seems like the nicest guy, but lets be honest, it’s not as if he is exactly busy nowadays. All that being said, this venture still really scares me.
First of all, half the movie is going to revolve around, “a young cadre and cadet who can pick up the equipment and drive the car.” Yeah, bringing around a younger star to play off of an established fan favorite always works. Aykroyd told reporters that he is going to be looking for unknowns, so at least we fans get a few months to dream about being noticed on the street by a big-wig producer and whisked away to Hollywood to join the Ghostbusters. That might be worth the inevitable heartbreak Ghostbusters 3 is sure to bring.
