Pisces (Feb. 19-March 20) Let’s face it:You’re easily distracted. I don’t blame you.The world’s a fascinating place, and you’re interested in so many parts of it. Unfortunately, that passion for all life has to offer can sometimes mean you lack focus.Without sustained attention, there are some tasks you’ll just fail at, and some situations you’ll never be able to get deeply into (often including relationships).The only solution (this week, at least) is to put on blinders if necessary, and completely block out all potential diversions, so you can concentrate entirely on the task at hand. Pisces (Feb. 19-March 20) There’s such a thing as cutting someone too much slack. At some point, enough is enough. If they really suck that bad (or are that flaky, dishonest or irresponsible), cut them loose. I admire your kindhearted generosity, except when it gets the best of you or those around you. It’s not your job to take in every stray and charity case— especially those who are determined to sabotage anything good in their lives. Pisces (Feb. 19-March 20) Fish at the bottom of a frozen pond can still survive the winter.They slow down their bodies and wait it out, so they don’t need to consume as much oxygen or food. Adopt a similar strategy this week.You’ll be getting a bit less of the things you usually need, but please don’t freak. Slow down a little and make do with what you have for now. Abundance is just around the corner—the trick is not panicking and just chilling until it arrives. Fail to do that, and you could (ironically) keep it from rounding the bend for quite some time. Pisces (Feb. 19-March 20) When you’re cultivating a gym habit, getting there is more than half the battle.This is similar. Once you’ve entered into a situation, you’ll be fine. Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 18) When approaching a situation that’s similar to one you’ve experienced before, use what you learned, but be careful how you apply it. That means you shouldn’t be trying to recreate the same scenarios—doing so would feel false and artificial for all concerned. However, using what worked isn’t a bad idea. Build on that.There’s a way to call upon your history to help create something totally new. The more you can let go of what’s gone before, without forgetting it, the better chance you’ll have of making the present moment richer and more thrilling than the past ever was. Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 18) What started as a pet project now has the potential to turn into something more.The question is, do you want it to? On the one hand, this could be something that enables you to generate wealth or opportunities from something you love. On the other hand, transforming it in such a way could kill your love for it altogether. It mostly depends on where you’re at, and what you’re willing to do, and how.The only question that’s really answered is: when? That’s easy. Now is the time. What you do is up to you. Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 18) Don’t make choices based on your weakest moments, but rather your strongest ones. If you always aim for only what you can accomplish when you’re at your worst, you won’t get much done— at least not much to be proud of. Strive for things you could only accomplish on your best days. Give yourself multiple opportunities to rise to challenges; lately it seems like you’re setting up chances to keep the bar low, instead. By shooting for stuff you could only do while exercising your full potential, you’re much more likely to fail— but you also create the possibility that you’ll succeed, wildly. Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 18) Are you a lead singer who sounds like shit without your backup singers? Are you able to shine only by leaning on your friends? It goes without saying that everyone looks better with an entourage, but this week is all about what you can do completely on your own. Of course, flying solo is usually less fun than running with a pack, but this week it should be an interesting and rewarding challenge to see how far you can go and how much you can accomplish without your wingmen and support staff. How you used to dread your turn to give a speech in front of the class, or run up and kick the ball, or do anything where you might fall flat on your face in front of people! It's still not your favorite thing, but you buckled down your anxiety and got through it all those other times, and eventually got much better at that kind of thing. Read more Read it in print

Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan. 19): I dreamt I was sat next to President Obama at a show. Instead of taking the opportunity to ask him about health care reform or gays in the military, I said, “Hey, are you having any fun? In ten years time, will you and your wife be able to look back on this time and say, ‘Wow, what a blast!’?” For his sake, I hope so, and for your sake, too; if you can’t find a way to enjoy what you’re up to— even if it is deadly serious, there’s almost no point in doing it, is there?
