Hail Storm

A man was injured in a fight over a taxi. At 8 PM on Saturday, December 14, a 51-year-old man was looking for a cab on York Avenue. When one pulled over to pick him up, another man jumped in front of him to steal his ride. The two men exchanged words and then got into a fight, during which the first man was knocked to the ground and sustained a bump on his head as well as a pain in his ankle. The second man hopped in the cab and took off. The first man was taken to New York Hospital.

Check Wreck

Someone wrote a fraudulent check on a man's bank account. On Wednesday, December 11, a 67-year-old man got a call from his bank on 79th Street advising him that an unknown person had attempted to write a check against his account in the name of a different person. The check had been written in the amount of $1,880.77.

Supplies Surprise

A former college employee attempted to order supplies without permission or authority. In the period between November 21 and December 12, an employee previously terminated by a college on Park Avenue attempted to order unspecified supplies using the school's account number. The value of the supplies amounted to $1,418.88.
