Forty one members of two narcotics trafficking rings have been indicted for selling and delivering cocaine, Manhattan District Attorney Cy Vance announced last week. Thirty three members of the "Blocc Boyz" gang, which is based in the Baruch Houses on the Lower East Side, are accused of using car services to deliver cocaine throughout Manhattan. Four defendants are being charged with Operating as a Major Trafficker, also known as the "Drug Kingpin" statute. Members of the Blocc Boyz were making hundreds of thousands of dollars a year while still living in city-subsidized housing as NYCHA residents. This indictment unfortunately confirms that Manhattan really is the place where just about anything can be delivered to your doorstep.
