Yesterday afternoon the New York City Council Speaker held a reception at the Halcyon Restaurant in Charlotte, North Carolina, less than two blocks away from the convention center where the Democratic National Convention is being staged. The event, hosted by Sally Susman, a top executive at Pfizer and Quinn's finance chair, was reportedly intended to introduce Quinn to Democratic Party activists from around the country and to expand her brand beyond New York City as she prepares her 2013 run for mayor.
