A livery driver took a woman's bag in a dispute over her fare. At 9:25 PM on Sunday, July 28, a livery cab dropped a 48-year-old woman off at her hotel on West 63rd Street after having picked her up at the airport. The woman got into an argument with the driver over the fare. The driver began throwing pieces of the woman's luggage out of his livery, except for one bag. He then drove off taking that last piece of luggage. Security cameras were working outside the hotel. The stolen items included a Bulgari diamond-and-white-gold necklace valued at $12,000, a Dubai diamond ring worth $8,000, a Bulgari black rubber strap watch priced at $6,000, vintage pearl-and-diamond earrings valued at $5,000, a MacBook Air laptop worth $2,000, a Rimowa bag valued at $1,200, plus other items of clothing and jewelry. In all, the one bag stolen by the livery driver contained items amounting to $51,950.
