Motorcycles Stolen from West Side

    in recent weeks, thieves have been lifting motorcycles parked on upper east side streets into vans and driving off. now motorcycles are starting to disappear on the upper west side as well. a $7,000 2009 black yamaha motorcycle was stolen from its spot april 21. the owner, a 38-year-old massachusetts man, parked his bike in front of 8 w. 70th st., at central park west. when he returned at 11:30 a.m., it was missing. video footage recovered from the scene showed three people wearing gray hooded sweatshirts putting the motorcycle in a dark-colored minivan. two days later, april 23 at noon, a 28-year-old staten island man reported that his 2008 white suzuki was stolen. he parked in front of 200 central park west, near the museum of natural history. police said there was no camera surveillance in this case.
