At 1 p.m. on Sunday, May 19, a 44-year-old woman secured her wedding ring and engagement ring inside a zippered pouch, which she placed inside the zippered pocket of her book bag. She then placed the book bag on the floor of the nail salon on First Avenue where she was having her nails done. When she checked her book bag an hour later, she found that her rings were missing from the bag. The stolen rings were a five-diamond white metal engagement ring valued at $5,000 and a Tiffany platinum band wedding ring worth $1,200. No wonder they say it's bad luck to take off your wedding ring!
