New 'Wood In The Hood

The merging of New York City and Hollywood continues with the expansion of Brooklyn's largest film studio—which brought us Spider-Man 3 and Inside Man. [To compete with Hollywood, Steiner Studios will almost double its size]—expanding to almost 600,000 square feet by renovating a seven-story building in the Brooklyn Navy Yard.

The Daily News reports: “Since opening, Steiner Studios has lured more than a dozen TV shows and movies to New York, furrowing brows in Hollywood where movie production dropped 7.5 percent last year, according to the Entertainment Industry Development Corp.”

And according to the Mayor's Office of Film, Theatre and Broadcasting, the number of local film, TV and video productions increased drastically last year, due in part to tax incentives to film in the five boroughs. Can't wait to see our version of the walk of shame, I mean fame.
