At 1 a.m. the night of Saturday, March 23, a 38-year-old woman from Brooklyn entered a pub on Amsterdam Avenue carrying a pocketbook. She left her pocketbook unattended for a few minutes when one of a group of three other women laid her jacket over the woman's pocketbook. After the trio ordered drinks, the woman who had laid her jacket down took her jacket along with the victim's pocketbook and left the bar. Employees of the bar witnessed this incident on video and alerted the victim. The faces of the three perpetrators can be seen on the video, so police are hopeful that this will lead to their arrest. Items in the pocketbook stolen included debit and gift cards, plus $80 cash.
