Warby’s Waddling
Ros Warby
Through May 2, Dance Theater Workshop, 219 W. 19th St. (betw. 7th & 8th Aves.); 7:30, $15
Australian choreography Ros Warby isn’t afraid of being on stage alone, but in her solo Monumental she’s not. Rather,Warby is accompanied by images of ballerinas past, of Odette of Swan Lake and little dancing soldiers of nearly every ballet. She’s also accompanied here by video projections and solo cello.
Bottom Line: Astonishingly, through much solo fluttering,Warby never veers into the self-indulgent and steers clear of the boring.
