By the title of The Last International Playboy, an indie movie that premiered on Wednesday night, you would think leggy supermodels have become hard for a high-class man to find. But, thankfully, the party after the film’s Times Square screening showed high-class macking is still alive and well. The film fete was chock full of sexy models, many who had cameos in the film.
“Wait, which one of us was the porn star?” asked one model about her friends in International Playboy. She was walking to get on a tequila-drenched fiesta bus driving to the after party.
Whoever the hell played the porn star, the cast was ready to celebrate. Actors and socialites took over the Groovedeck at Hudson Terrace, a posh open-air club overlooking Midtown and the Intrepid battleship. Former Roswell star Jason Behr, the film’s leading man, along with young actresses Krysten Ritter and Monet Mazur were all present, as was Lydia Hearst, socialite, model and heiress to the William Randolph Hearst fortune. They mingled with the packed crowd of models and rakish playboys (by the look of things, in no danger of extinction) at the bordello-themed party while a soundtrack of everything from the Beach Boys to Interpol blasted from the speakers.
“Where is the bar?” Hearst asked as soon as she stepped off the elevator. She was almost vampire pale, wearing plenty of mascara and a tight and tiny sequined dress. “I’m running on fumes now. I need a drink.”
After hitting the open bar, she talked about her role in the film. She shows up during the opening sequence, where she plays grab-ass with a brunch of naked models, all of them only wearing panties.
“You have to separate yourself from the fact you’re not wearing very much,” she explained. Partiers crowded all around her, packing so tightly around her you would think she was still nude. It seems all the playboys loved the beginning of the film.
