Pressed For Time: The Red Balloon

By Joshua David Stein
. . . . . . .

Daily, Museum of the Moving Image, 3601 35th Ave. (at 36th St.), Queens; 1:30, $7

There aren’t any words in Albert Lamorisse’s 1956 short film “The Red Balloon,” and one of the characters couldn’t talk anyway, owing to the fact that she’s a balloon. But this tale of a boy and his balloon was the most touching film about balloons until Up came out.

Not a weird kid!

Bottom Line: It’s 34 minutes and shows at lunch. You’re fat and sad. Seeing this instead of eating solves both problems.
