Film festivals aren’t all glitzy, indie and Oscar-worthy, you know. CineKink NYC, an alternative film fest dedicated to promoting “sex-positive” and “kink-friendly” media just ran its sixth annual fest last week. Of their awards, Best Documentary went to Graphic Sexual Horror, a film about the notorious bondage site Insex.com (we talked to the filmmakers in this story), and Best Experimental Short was a tie between Erotic Moments and Un Piede di Roman Polanski—the latter explores the famed director’s foot fascination.
Other awards were given to a range of films of the scandalous and kinky varieties, including a porn shop musical, camp comedies, dramas and, of course, classic porn—both in mild and spicy forms. The CineKink Tributes were awarded to the familiar (and not so explicit) Coen brothers’ film Burn After Reading and to the CBS TV sitcom How I Met Your Mother. Don’t get too uncomfortable if you missed this steamy fest—some of the films will screen in select cities this year. Luckily, NYC surely embraces the lovechildren of porn and art.
