What to Watch This Weekend

The Hurt Locker from Katheryn Bigelow hits theaters this weekend. The film has gotten some of the best reviews ever for an Iraq War film.

Lemon Tree, an Israeli film that has had some international success, has two screenings at Symphony Space this Sunday. It's a tad overwrought, but still an example of the impressive films that have been coming out of Israel and Palestine as of late.

Dead Snow OK, maybe I'm just recommending this because of my personal zombie obsession, but think of it this way. What other chance will you ever have to see Nazis, zombies and Norweigans together all at once unless you had a really weird themed prom?

Trinidad is a film about the same-named town in Colorado. A sleepy hamlet of 9,000 that also happens to be a hotspot for transsexual surguries. This doc is hit or miss, but the quirky subject and the director Q&A after its screening at the 92nd Street Y make it worth a look.

Only a true macho dickhead like David Berke would leave out the phenomenal film based on the novel of the same name by the master author Jodi Piccoult, "My Sister's Keeper." I hope his family gets sent to Africa to feed the hungry to make up for that major mistake in movie selection. For those who know and enjoy quality cinema, "My Sister's Keeper" comes out tomorrow, Friday the 26th.

Oh no. You can't delete anonymous comments. How embarrassing for John Doe.
