The Hurt Locker from Katheryn Bigelow hits theaters this weekend. The film has gotten some of the best reviews ever for an Iraq War film.
Lemon Tree, an Israeli film that has had some international success, has two screenings at Symphony Space this Sunday. It's a tad overwrought, but still an example of the impressive films that have been coming out of Israel and Palestine as of late.

Trinidad is a film about the same-named town in Colorado. A sleepy hamlet of 9,000 that also happens to be a hotspot for transsexual surguries. This doc is hit or miss, but the quirky subject and the director Q&A after its screening at the 92nd Street Y make it worth a look.
