Democrat Reshma Saujani kicked off her campaign for public advocate on Monday with a weeklong tour of the city, stopping in each of the five boroughs to meet with small business owners, immigrants, women, entrepreneurs, and seniors to discuss her plans for creating stronger educational and economic opportunities for New Yorkers.

Saujani previously ran against Upper East Side Congresswoman Carolyn Maloney in the Democratic primary in 2010 and lost that race. She is a former Deputy Public Advocate and the founder of Girls Who Code.
