Thievery Thwarted

A woman wearing a ponytail attempted to steal another woman's cell phone. At 8 PM on Tuesday, July 23, a 36-year-old woman was walking on the northeast corner of Third Avenue and 95th Street when another woman with long brown hair in a ponytail came up from behind and grabbed the first woman's arm where she was holding her cell phone. The two women had a brief struggle. The ponytailed perpetrator failed to wrest away the cell phone and gave up, fleeing north on Third Avenue. The victim was unhurt but unable to identify the thwarted thief.
