Thompson On Wal-Mart Spy Charges: 'Chilling and Truly Outrageous'

    In light of the ongoing controversy over [Wal-Mart's surveillance] of employees and just about anyone else they wanted to check into, City Comptroller Bill Thompson has issued a letter to the Attorney General and the SEC demanding that they take a long hard look at the retailer's conduct, calling it "chilling and truly outrageous."

    “This conduct,” said Thompson in his letter to the SEC, “reflects breathtakingly flawed judgment and raises significant questions regarding Wal-Mart’s commitment to its shareholders and the public markets.”
