Three Nabbed After Attempted Robbery

three men were arrested after a man accused them of trying to rob him, police said. the victim told police that the three men tried to steal his knapsack, which contained money, after striking him with a metal object. the victim defended himself and fled down the street as the muggers chased him. after losing the three men, he called police. cops said they found the three perps making a false police report for assault. witnesses of the attempted robbery gave their accounts to the police, who then arrested the three men.
