Another New York Candidate In 2008?

Well, fictionally from New York, anyway.

An official committee has been set up to encourage former Tennessee Senator Fred Thompson, who currently plays Manhattan District Attorney Arthur Branch on NBC's "Law & Order," to seek the Republican nomination for president in 2008. Supporters feel that Thompson would be the candidate the Republican base is dying for: a credible, well-known conservative. Quote (from the site):

Fred is a real conservative.  From tax cuts, to cleaning up government, to his vital role in the confirmation of Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts, Fred Thompson has a record of fighting for conservative values.
