Brr, It's Cold In Here

As I’m sure most of you have noticed, except those who live in a box, it’s cold outside. Our little tropical winter is over, but all those people worrying about global warming still aren’t happy. This week’s big chill has resulted in thousands of [complaints to the 311 system (think of it as the city’s concierge), prompting officials to open warming centers] and to increase efforts to supply shelter for the homeless. The nine warming centers—which amount to nearly double the number opened in previous cold emergencies—are located in Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx, and Staten Island. Today’s high is 26 degrees and there might be snow! You remember that stuff, right?(http://flickr.com/photos/vogelium/)
