Wallet stolen at restaurantA 26-year-old woman reported that her wallet was stolen from her bag while she was inside the Copella Pork Sandwich restaurant on West 14th Street early Saturday morning. She told police that she had her purse next to her when an unknown person removed the wallet from her purse. She said that her wallet contained debit and credit cards, as well as her driver’s license and $15 in cash.
Phone stolen from MarqueeA 24-year-old woman reported that her phone was stolen while she was inside the Marquee nightclub at 289 10th Avenue June 9 at 3:15 a.m. She said that she left the table where she was sitting for a few minutes and when she returned, she noticed that her phone was no longer in her bag.
drunk driving arrest after accidentPolice arrested a 29-year-old woman for intoxicated driving after she caused an accident at the northeast corner of 10th Avenue and West 15th Street Sunday at 7:10 p.m. Police said that the suspect was involved in an accident at the intersection and when police arrived at the scene, they found that she had an odor of alcohol on her breath and watery eyes. She refused a Breathalyzer at the precinct.
Public drinker busted for stolen credit cardsPolice arrested a 50-year-old man for possession of stolen property on West 26th Street between Eighth and Ninth Avenue Saturday at 1:45 a.m. Police said that the man was stopped because he was drinking a 24-ounce can of Budweiser in public and when he was searched, officers found that he was in possession of a controlled substance as well as multiple credit cards that didn’t belong to him.
Assault on West 17th StreetPolice arrested a man for assault in front of 453 West 17th St. Saturday at 3:50 a.m. Police said that the suspect punched the victim in the forehead, causing pain and swelling. The suspect was in possession of a screwdriver when he was searched. Police said that the suspect and the victim didn’t know each other, and no further information was available about what started the dispute.
Woman harassed by former coworkerA 26-year-old woman who lives on West 22nd Street between Seventh and Eighth Avenues reported Saturday at 10:30 a.m. that a former coworker has been sending her threatening text messages stating, “You gonna find out what happens to snitches like you.” The victim said that she is fearful for her life.
Fight at Ninth and West 41stPolice arrested a 31-year-old man and a 34-year-old man for assault at the southwest corner of Ninth Avenue and West 41st Street Sunday at 5 p.m. Police said that the two men were arguing at the corner and got into a physical altercation, resulting in the 34-year-old punching and scratching the other man’s face.
iPad StolenAn employee of Pier 81 at the northwest corner of 12th Avenue and West 41st Street told police that another employee took an iPad from the company without permission. She reported that the employee had unscrewed the iPad from its mount and removed it from the location. Police said that surveillance video of the incident is available.
