Yesterday, it was announced that Marcus Brauchli, 45, will be the [new managing editor of the Wall Street Journal]. The bigwig has 15 years as a foreign correspondent under his belt at the countrys most influential financial paper (thats the Journal, if you werent paying attention) and several more spent amongst its editor ranks.
Says Marcus, "These days people wake up and check their BlackBerry before they read the newspaper. A newspaper has to be much more than what happened yesterday. It's too easy for them to skate by and not read it." Oh really? Check out some more wise words in [The Washington Post].
