Fodder for Lawyer Jokes
Manhattan lawyer Jeffrey Koslow, convicted of attempting to disseminate indecent material to a minor, won his appeal last Tuesday when the Appellate Division of State Supreme Court in Brooklyn found that his emails did not depict sexual conduct because they contained only words, not pictures. Well, according to the dictionary, depict is a verb and can be defined as to represent in a sculpture or a picture or to represent in words; describe. But apparently the courts dont like that second part. This technicality is worse than when Clinton argued what he and Monica engaged in wasnt sex. But, whereas the Presidents inexplicable, but very legal, love for his intern was found intolerable, the court is now avoiding placing guilt at the feet (or knees) of highly culpable pedophiles. Luckily, Republican lawmakers in the state Senate plan to seek legislation that will find sexually explicit emails and instant messages sent to children illegal, regardless of imagery that may or may not be included.
